Pybus Public Market Announces 31st Annual Make A Difference Day

The Wenatchee Valley shows up every 4th Saturday in October to make an incredible difference in our community for Make A Difference Day. And this year will be no exception to that tradition with all the many projects happening in our community this year. Pybus Public Market serves as Make a Difference Day HQ. If you are looking for a way to make a difference join us at Pybus Public Market this Saturday, October 23rd from 9am to 1pm.

The Pybus plaza will be set up as a drive-thru donation spot for the following projects and items:

  • Donations of food and supplies for cats & dogs that will go to the Wenatchee Humane Society and Kitty Rescue
  • Yarn donations to be given to Aida Bound who hand makes hats to share with children in our community and around the world
  • New warm winter socks donations collected by Saddlerock Presbyterian Church and distributed to charitable organizations in our area
  • Wish List items for Cancer Care and Our House donations collected by the Washington State Chapter PEO Sisterhood
  • New shoes for local children experiencing foster care by DCYF
  • Adult coats for the homeless in our community collected by Grace Lutheran Church
  • Cotton & flannel materials collected to make feminine hygiene products for the Days for Girls organization
  • Non-perishable cleaning supplies are being collected by the Little Free Pantry
  • Winter items (snow coats and pants, boots, hats) are being collected by Wenatchee Pride

Information booths will be set up for community members to learn more about the following programs in our area:

  • Chelan-Douglas Community Council will have a booth with information about opioid disposal and storage as well as sign-ups for their Green Bag program
  • Washington State Chapter PEO Sisterhood with information about their program and wish list items for Cancer Care and Our House
  • ntofChildren,YouthandFamilieswillhaveaninformationboothsteringparenting.
  • Little Free Pantry will have a booth with information and sign ups to create your own little free pantry
  • Wenatchee Pride will have a booth with freebies and resources
  • The Red Cross will have a booth set up for people to learn how to perform Hands- Only CPR to educate people on how to help deliver life-saving care until professional responders arrive

Pybus Public Market is built in the historic Pybus steel warehouse located next to the Columbia River at the foot of Orondo Street in Wenatchee. The property is a year-round marketplace for restaurants, wine, fruit and vegetable vendors, meats and cheeses, baked goods, oils, other foods, flowers, retail sales and local craftspeople.
