Pybus Public Market announces the search for a new General Manager / Foundation Director, replacing Leslie Freytag, Transitional Executive Director who is retiring. The General Manager / Foundation Director will be the leader of Pybus Public Market and the Pybus Market Charitable Foundation. In this dual capacity, the position implements policies set by the Board of Directors, collaborates with the Board of Directors to achieve goals and objectives, and creates a work culture supportive of organizational integrity, leadership, and cooperation. This position reports to the Board of Directors and directly supervises the staff, manages fundraising and donor development activities and oversees tenant relations and development. The ideal candidate should be able to lead, a small team focused on continuing to support the market as place “where community meets”. This candidate will also have knowledge of retail leasing, marketing, event and facilities management.

The Board of Directors named a search committee in July: Ron Berschauer, Chair, JoAnn Walker, Founder, Steve Lee and Allison Foreman. The committee has been focused on developing the search process and conducting interviews with all constitiuents of the market. “The search committee will perform the critical work of finding the next General Manager / Foundation Director,” said Nate Bishop, President Pybus Public Market and Pybus Foundation Board of Directors. “Pybus Public Market is a special place and seeks to find a general manager that reflects its mission and continues to build on the success of the past 8 years.” Bishop thanked Leslie Freytag for her service as she helped the board to transition from their first Executive Director and plan for the future. He concluded by saying, “I thank the members of the search committee for serving the market through this critical work.

“It has been an honor to lead the market the past 2 years as we prepared for this transition,” said Leslie Freytag. “We have amazing tenant family here at Pybus and a special community that supports us all,” Freytag added.

“Our goal is to have the new leader of Pybus in place by year-end,” said Ron Berschauer, President-Elect and Search Committee Chair.
