Pybus Market announced today that it will conduct a poster contest among artists who are residents of Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan and Grant counties. The winning entry will become the official poster for Pybus Market during its inaugural 2013-14 season.
Submitted artwork must depict a public market theme in a painted or drawn medium. Submissions are due by Monday, March 11, 2013. One winner will be selected in the spring of 2013 and announced at an unveiling party prior to the grand opening of Pybus Market. Winning artist will receive $250 cash, recognition in Pybus Market marketing material, and free display space at Pybus Market.
Artists retain ownership of their original artwork. Pybus Market expects to sell a limited edition of the winning poster for its 2013-14 season.
"We hope that local artists will capture the essence of a public market setting in their artwork," said Steve Robinson, executive director of Pybus Market. "This poster contest will become an annual event that affords a venue to showcase high quality art and the beauty of a market and agricultural setting," added Robinson.
More detailed entry rules are available here.
