WENATCHEE – Blodgett Construction of Wenatchee will keep on working after its contract to repair the roof of the Pybus Public Market building ends in a few weeks.
The Port of Chelan County Wednesday awarded Blodgett a second contract, this one to repair the building’s walls, windows and doors, install restrooms and heating/air conditioning systems.
Blodgett’s bid of just under $1.5 million was the lowest of two bids submitted, Laura Jaecks, port spokeswoman, said Wednesday.
The other bid was by GG Richardson Inc., also of Wenatchee.
Blodgett’s work will continue through year-end, while other crews do parking-lot work, which includes adding a stormwater system, lighting and landscaping.
The 25,000-square-foot market, at the foot of Orondo Avenue, will house shops, stands and restaurants. It will also be the seasonal home of the Wenatchee Valley Farmer’s Market. It should open next spring.
