Cashmere Valley Bank’s “Breakfast for Heroes” is 7:00am to 10:30am on Thursday, the 4th of July at Pybus Market. The menu is pancakes, scrambled eggs, ham, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee. Price is only $6.00 per person and 100% of all proceeds go to support local area veterans’ programs. Vet’s eat for free! 9th Annual River Run on the Fourth
The 9th-annual River Run on the Fourth, presented by North Cascades Bank, will be held Thursday, July 4, in conjunction with the Wenatchee Independence Day Celebration. The 5K and 10K will start and finish at Pybus Public Market. Main beneficiary: Chelan-Douglas Literacy Council Description: The two courses — 5K and 10K — utilize the paved Apple Capital Loop Trail along the Columbia River and feature flat sections, rollers and a few hills. We encourage walkers to participate in both the 5K and 10K. Strolling along the river is a pastime of many! Start time: 8 a.m. Start line: Pybus Public Market, 7 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee Finish line: Pybus Public Market, 7 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee Timing and results: The race will be timed. Results will be posted on www.runwenatchee.com after the race. Packet pickup: 4 to 6 p.m., July 3, 2019, at Pybus Public Market, 8 N. Worthen St. Wenatchee; and 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., July 4, 2019, at Pybus Public Market, 8 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee. In-person registration: 4 to 6 p.m., July 3, 2019, at Pybus Public Market, 8 N. Worthen St. Wenatchee; and 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., July 4, 2019, at Pybus Public Market, 8 N. Worthen St., Wenatchee. Essentials: Aid stations will be located approximately every three miles. Stations will have will have water and energy drink.

Meet and hear from the National Geographic “Adventurer of the Year” Jennifer Pharr Davis on Friday, July 26 from 7pm to 8pm in the LocalTel Event Center at Pybus Market.  Admission is free. The lecture is suitable for all ages. Davis is a long distance hiker from the United States of America, author, speaker, and Ambassador for the American Hiking Society.  She has hiked over 12,000 miles on six different continents, including thru-hikes on the Pacific Crest Trail, the Appalachian Trail (three times), the Colorado Trail, the Long Trail in Vermont, the Bibbulmun Track in Australia, and numerous trails in Europe and South America.  Her belief is that “the trail is there for everyone at every phase of life” and with the goal of getting people- especially women and children- outdoors on their own terms.
