Stemilt Creek Winery (SCW) and Archibald James Wine and Cider (AJWC) are excited to join the Pybus Public Market with the opening of “Off The Hill”. The combined tasting room features small-batch, artisan wines and ciders from the two businesses that produce side-by-side on Stemilt Hill in Wenatchee. Pybus Public Market features local brands, and SCW and AJWC are as local as you can get.

Stemilt Creek Winery is owned by Kyle and Jan Mathison. The Mathison’s are fourth generation farmers on Stemilt Hill in Wenatchee. The family has grown fruit trees in the area since Thomas Cyle originally homesteaded in 1893. SCW has produced estate grown wine at their vineyard on Stemilt Hill since 2003.

Seth Cohen came to work with SCW as the winemaker and winery general manager in January of 2019, just after AJWC began production of their own wines and ciders. There was a natural alignment of core values and interests that led to strong cooperation between the two brands and a relocation of AJWC production to the SCW facilities on Stemilt Hill.

Archibald James Wine and Cider is owned by Seth Cohen and Bryan Noyd and they began production in 2018. Seth has been in the grape and wine industry for 20 years and most recently was the founding department head of the Fermentation Sciences program at Appalachian State University in North Carolina. Seth is the winemaker/cidermaker and leads the production efforts for AJWC. Bryan was a NCW restaurant operator for 25 years before retiring in 2016 and is also involved with local real estate development. Bryan oversees the business and sales side of the operation for AJWC.
