In this collection of recent paintings, I combine ink washes, spray painting, fluid acrylics, and masking techniques. My method leans toward processes that demand both dexterity and fluidity where I can let go without losing control. I work in a series, several paintings at one time. This practice keeps my mind loose and encourages me not to overthink each mark. It helps to make the process less precious and lends itself to opportunities to take greater risks without fear. This series is a reflection of my everyday environment translated into marks on the canvas. It started as a study of contrasts such as calm & chaos, organic & rigid, fluid & still, dark & light…opposites, and contradictions. As the work moved further along, I was challenged to bring these contrasting marks into balance, to find common ground, to bridge the gap, and to find harmony. In the end, what had started as a study in contrasts evolved into a practice of acceptance through patience and collaboration. Through these paintings, I invite the viewers to join me in a journey of acceptance and balance, where contrasts and collaborations coexist.
