A lifelong outdoorsman, Guy Miner grew up hiking, fishing, hunting, and enjoying the great outdoors at every opportunity. “There have been backpacking, hiking, mountaineering, overlanding, hunting and fishing trips in Mexico, Canada, Alaska and in most of our western states,” said Guy. A budding interest in photography in the 1970’s was slowed while busy with careers in the Marines and in law enforcement.
Nature provides a solace, a peace for me. My careers have exposed me to a great deal of stress and violence. I find that my regular camera walks help soothe the soul. Typically I’m accompanied by my dog, Maverick. He’s full of energy and curiosity and not much help at all with the camera, but we manage to find photo subjects on every walk.
The photos on exhibit were taken in the Northwest, some right here in Wenatchee, Chelan County and Douglas County. “We have a wonderful variety of wildlife in our local area. I seek to capture the images as naturally as possible,” said Guy.
