LINDSAY BREIDENTHAL
I grew up on the edge of town in Wenatchee, WA. Here, the intersection of wild and domestic provided a vantage point that would come to influence how I see the world as I studied biology and painting at Wenatchee Valley College and Central Washington University. My paintings include patterns, animal forms, and transparent layers of color to create depth and unique qualities of light. I think of the pattern as a way to blend interior & exterior and to focus on imagery that shifts my thinking of how our animal bodies are connected to every other thing in the universe. I express a deep love and concern for my home by painting aspects of this familiar environment like the plants, animals, and landforms alongside a human story of insecurity, escape, and everyday enlightenment. In addition to making original paintings, I take commissions, teach occasionally, and serve as an active board member for the NCW Arts Alliance.
Please welcome Lindsay Breidenthal to Art Alley for a reception on Friday, July 7th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
