Dahlia tubers freeze in our North Central Washington cold winters. If you want to enjoy your gorgeous blooms next summer, you’ll need to put your dahlias to bed at the end of the growing season.
This class will teach you the basics on preparing your dahlia tubers to store overwinter. This will include when to dig, how to divide tubers, labeling and two methods for tuber storage. Class time will be split between a short lecture and activity so be prepared to get your hands dirty. Questions will be welcome and attendees will go home with a free tuber coupon for the NCW Dahlia Society spring 2025 tuber sale.
This class will be taught by the NCW Dahlia Society which is committed to supporting the growing and showing of dahlias in our community. We love to help foster the joy of dahlias for everyone in love with these special blooms.
Please note a spring sister class to this one will be offered via Pybus University and the NCW Dahlia Society. This course will focus on how to plant tubers and set up your dahlias for success for a summer full of beautiful blooms.
